Another thing do they not realize the dress codes has changed GREATLY from when they were top dogs for example I heard some tie manufactures have went out of buisness because ties are not required in a lot of work places nowbarbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110742616030074174.post-18622672795719966142009-04-11T17:31:00.000-07:002009-04-11T17:31:00.000-07:00Amen!Amen!Toni Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01301378153468384096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110742616030074174.post-2506727090335526642009-04-11T09:27:00.000-07:002009-04-11T09:27:00.000-07:00This whole "controversy" and the tone of the artic...This whole "controversy" and the tone of the article in WWD is silly and sad. Silly because come on by wearing JCrew and using younger upcoming designers she is helping the fashion industry. As the younger designers become more prominent - they will need more space, more staff and more stores to sell their wares to. That is definitely stimulating the economy and encouraging job growth.

Personally I think Oscar and Donna should get over themselves. Her style is not their style and if they want to dress her they will have to acquiesce to her wishes...something I don't think they want to do.

Two very well-off designers who have spent the last few decades kowtowing to celebrities are now annoyed that they missed the mark...sour grapes is putting it mildly!Carolyn (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02204627216540667980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110742616030074174.post-71031761220683090842009-04-09T16:31:00.000-07:002009-04-09T16:31:00.000-07:00One of the reasons I find Oscar's comments so 'sou...One of the reasons I find Oscar's comments so 'sour grapes' is that you KNOW that if he got hold of Michelle, he'd start complaining to her about her hips or her thighs, telling her to lose weight or do something else to herself so that she'd be more like HE wants. She's not interested in what he's selling. Get over it, Oscar. Donna Karen's problem is that her 'moment' was about 20 years ago. Her thing always was and is that she's designing for 'women like her' - Michelle is not a 'chocolate brown knit that you can wrap around yourself twice' person. Get over it, Donna - the demographic has moved on.
And Michelle can wear anything she damn well pleases in my book. She looks great in everything.Toby Wollinhttp://www.kitchencountereconomics.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110742616030074174.post-74879525516375308352009-04-09T06:10:00.000-07:002009-04-09T06:10:00.000-07:00I like Michelle because she represents herself not...I like Michelle because she represents herself not a league of designers.
