I love shoes, really I do. The ones that go on my feet and the ones that go on my sewing machine. I love them so much so that I'm dedicating this post to cover the sewing machine feet that have captured my fancy, and hopefully they will capture yours. I've classified them by necessity and function for your viewing pleasure :-)
For starters, please see my post on inspecting your sewing machine shank. You will need to know this before purchasing generic feet from retailers other than your machine's maker.
**This post is a work-in-progress. I'll update it as I get more information.**

Very helpgul, thanks! Though I think what could make this even better is a little picture of each foot next to it - I know I often have trouble figuring out what the feet I have are actually for, and I've often had to ID feet for friends who bought vintage or hand-me-down machines... (Also, I shudder at your google referrers for this post! I once had a post on shirt collars called "Collar me bad" that I'm still getting BDSM visitors for! I had no idea!)
This will be a very helpful referance. Thanks! I have quite a few feet but never thought of keep a log, this is a great idea.
Great work ! Same as Melissa, I wonder how many are going to be directed here through some inadequate search ;o)
Thanks for sharing this, it's very useful. I have an ongoing love affair with my binding foot. Every single time I use it, I say to DH, "Have I mentioned how much I love my binder foot?". Now I just need to get to grips with other feet for my overlocker!
