I merrily began cutting away at my tartan fabric for my Mackage inspired coat. I breezed right through it without a care...after all Burda includes the check lines to match plaids on the pattern so I have nothing to worry about, right? WRONG?? I fell asleep at the wheel yall, and I don't even know why it went awry. It's the last of the fabric so it's going to have to stay that way. Take a look:
So far so good. The left and right fronts match; even the the sleeves match. Way to go Burda!
And the back and front of the right sleeve looks pretty straight...WIN!
But wait, what have we here...eek!
Whoa Nelly that looks bad... Like Mama said, measure twice and cut once. *Sigh* There will be others. Next time I won't go on auto-pilot when the pattern contains match lines.
On to happier things. How was your New Years??? Fabu I hope. My friends had an 80's theme costume party and it was uber fun. I was inspired by a little David Bowie and little bit of "The Last Dragon". Here is my outfit.
Here I am with the girls...we are such hams. If this party is indicative of the kind of year I will have...bring on 2009!!!

Cindy - I think you need a trip to Daytona Trimmings or M&J to find a trim that will hide the mismatch yet work with the design. And does this mean that you got a new camera for Christmas?! :)
Congratulations for daring to sew tartan, I like it but dread the lines' matching. Hopefully your next try will be the right one. Keep your spirits high and Happy New Year !!!
There are no words for how much I love your New Years outfit!
Darn that matching. I love, love, love plaid but have been scared to work with it since an ill matched pair of pants.
Happy New Year. Looks like you all had fun with the 80's lol Cute.:)
you looks really cute, not even 80's but now!
I have to admit it, we look fab in our 80's fashion! Happy New Year my dear!
I have a fear of matching plaids. One day I'll conquer it.
